Connect2Luton are excited to recruit a Senior Accountant on behalf of Luton Borough Council.Main purpose of position:Provide an effective accounting service to the Partner Department.Provide in-depth financial support, advice and information within allocated functional areas. Provide accounting services which are accurate, timely, consistent with corporate financial policy and practice, best professional practice and all pertinent legislation and financial regulations.You will be responsible to:Take operational responsibility and accountability for a substantial distinct area of the Council''s accounts, that includes complex accounting rules and regulations and complicated budget areas.Provide professional advice, support and challenge to budget holders, senior managers, chief officers and members through quality financial information and provide complex solutions to ensure value for money is obtained. Undertake training on aspects of finance to ensure professional standards are maintained and best practice is strengthened.Lead, manage, develop, inform and motivate employees within the team to ensure the efficient, cost effective and responsive delivery of financial and accounting service.
